We have a cPanel account running the full cPanel backup over FTP that did not remove the generated backup file from the account's home directory.

Other cPanel accounts usually removed the generated backup file once the FTP transfer is complete. This one does not.

Is there any settings in WHM which prevent the auto deletion of the generated backup file after the FTP transfer is completed?

Thank you for your insights.

To be clear, you used the "Download or Generate a Full Website Backup" tool in your cPanel and set it to be sent to Remote FTP?

I'm not aware of any sort of "leave a copy of backup on server" setting.

Is it just this one account or any account on that one server?

Whats the size of that specific account? cPanel did have issues while backing up accounts with large disk space usage. the backups which are not complete or partial will be left in the temporary folder in home.

I am not sure if they have fixed it in the new releases, anyways check the space and also try it after upgrading to latest release version. If you are on an old release, see what the changes are before you go for the latest one.

Thanks
