Horde isn't working on our server (FreeBSD 6.2) (it used to so not sure when it went awry). You get the language prompt and continually kicked back to it. Turning on a debug log in horde gives loads of sql errors too.

mysql.sock exists and there are no other known problems with mysql..can anyone enlighten me to the problem? I found a post that mentioned installing libfam, the closest I could find was /usr/ports/devel/fam and that made no difference.

    Hi,

I have had the same problems with HORDE.

My solution was to go to the horde database via WHM.
I sometimes needed to repair the session table and once i needed to empyt this table when repair was not possible anymore.

    This solved my problems

    Regards,
    Robert-Jan

libfam or gamin are only necessary for RPM based OSs.

drop/create the horde_sesssion table or simply delete everything from it.

If it was created as an InnoDB type table, and then later you added skip-innodb to /etc/my.cnf, you can get this issue.

I disabled horde a while back seen as I couldn't get it working and forgot about this thread.

It is still broken with the same errors
If I manually drop the horde database it gets recreated with horde_users as the only table.

The line mentioned doesn't exist in any of the my.cnf files on the server.

Its like the first query when creating the database is erroring out and the script doesn't understand this so it cannot do anything else once the connection to the database drops.

I've restored the mysql.user table so that emergency is over. Horde still doesn't work though.

    I'm currently running:

    WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.6.0-R15076

OK, just did a test install on FreeBSD 6.1 The only issue that prevented Horde from working properly was courier wasn't running. Once it was started, Horded worked fine.

Another server, FreeBSD 6.2, also has no issue running Horde. Would one of you mind opening a support ticket so we can determine what is happening?

    Thanks

I can't open a ticket as I don't have direct support. My hosting provider won't do anything either as I have an unmanaged server. The problem has arisen during upgrades as our server was originally running 10.something not 11. It was after that upgrade that horde stopped working.

Is there by any chance an sql somewhere that can be used to recreate the horde db table manually?

/usr/local/cpanel/base/horde/scripts/sql/create.mysql.sql will create the tables for you. You'll need to pipe it into the mysql process:

    Code:
    # mysql < /usr/local/cpanel/base/horde/scripts/sql/create.mysql.sql

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of support for your server. There are a number of people and companies that offer support and can likely help you with this; search the forum.

What do the login attempts look like in /var/log/maillog ?

Loading the SQL file manually has solved the problem thanks! I'll leave fullhordereset alone in future seen as it just seems to be that which can't talk to the database properly.

Cheers for helping me get Horde back. Squirrelmail is great but isn't quite as shiney for end users :)

Most of that was down to me forgetting about the thread and being too busy to do anything about it myself so don't worry :)

Now what can I break next :D
