Funky Perl MD5 error

    I cannot seem to get any perl scripts working after upgrading to 5.6.1 from the upgrade path on this forum.

    Here is the error, and I hope someone can help:

    Can't locate object method &new& via package &MD5& (perhaps you forgot to load &MD5&?) at /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/CPAN.pm line 4212

    ----

    MD5 is loaded (obvious to check that first). CPAN.pm line 4212 is:

    my $md5 = MD5-&new;

    ---
