I noticed today thanks to an angry client that postgres was not starting up upon reboot.

IMO it should be set to do this after running thru the rudimentary cpanel setup but it appears its not.

So the question is this. How do I do it?

Modify postgresql.conf to accept tcp/ip connections and restart postgres. Then
# service chkservd stop
# cd /etc/chkserv.d
# pico postgresql
Add the following contents:
Code:
service[PostGreSQL]=5432,GET / HTTP/1.0,EFATAL..,/etc/init.d/postgresql restart
ctrl-x to save
# service chkservd start
Now it should restart anytime it goes down.
