Am new to having my own server. Am just begining to set up the server (cpanel) and want to give my programmer a name and password so he can go in and finish setting this thing up..without giving him access to my account information like credit card info and such (dont want to have to give him my user name and password). How do I do this, if at all possible? Thanks for any advice!!!! ~~~Mary

To administer the server they need root access. There are ways to give them root access without giving them your root password, but no matter how you give them root access, they can do whatever they want. That's why when anyone has someone else admin their server, they need to know they can trust them. If it's only temporary, just change the root password once they are done.

As far as credit card info, that shouldn't be on your server anyway.

You mean without giving root password?

Easiest way is to create an account, give the account reseller priv's, then modify the priv's to give full root access. Just create an account, go to "reseller center", make them a reseller, then "Edit Reseller Privileges" to give root powers by selecting "All Features (warning: root access)".
