    Going back to safemode question

    Hi there,

    question:

Im having this conversation with my host but im also a little host..
    its about the safemode.

i requested it to be set to off and was done so because there a a bunch of sites running like mambo that can be sensitive using safemode on.
But then after a few weeks or whatever the safemode gets back to ON and they tell me that it happens automatically and done by cpanel.. and that they dont know why it happens.
Can someone tell me whats true about this?

This is not a place to get support from cPanel. The forums are for likeminded server admins to help each other out in their own time. If you want official support then your hosting provider will have to log a support request through their cPanel license provider.

Posts like that won't get you any help. Everybody here provides support in their free time without pay. This forum is not moderated by cPanel staff.

Listen...i posted my story in a normal way..
then it almost disapeared so i bumped it..
    Is that wrong?
    no ...thats a common thing..

Does everybody has the knowledge to answer my question?
    yes...most do i think..
    so why isnt nobody answering?

    thats the story..

And ban my ass ?..for what?...for being honest about something..?
So then i use a proxy server and use 200 ip's...and signup again..
    So will that help?

All because the gods here dont know what support is anymore...

Since you seem to think most everyone should be able to answer your question it must mean your too stupid to be a web host

Nothing wrong with bumping a post, but when you then turn and make snarky remarks about people not giving support when in fact they do not have to, well that will get peoples dander up.

Not sure what your host is talking about (never had that happen) see if this thread can help. http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=14473&highlight=safemode

Please remember that everyone on this forum are here of there own time and DO NOT have to help if they do not want to. This forum is NOT an official line of support from cPanel and is comprised of other hosting company admins/owners giving of there own time.

no not stupid, but stupid enough to think that others still know what support means...
i give good support...unlike others here...
i have no knowledge of all those techniques..
thats why i came here for the answer,so to my knowledge it simply means that most know more then me and therefore probably can give the answer.

Well Banning wont help as you can see the person knows enough to get around that.

Not ban you for being honest I think they were taling more about your attitude and how you are demanding support on an issuse that should be handled by your provider.

As for why it keeps reverting back to safe mode well that can be caused by a couple/few different things none of which you have control over if you are a reseller.

If its that big of an issuse then maybe looking for a new provider might be the answer?
one that can ensure you that the settings needed by you are kept in place.

    Good Luck

    hi dgbaker,

thanks for the reply, we both posted at the same time...

anyway, ive seen the thread but the quesion realy is...
as im told ....when safemode is set to OFF,does cpanel sets it back to ON ?...after a while or whatever reason?
And with "does cpanel sets it back to ON "...i mean..by itself !

hi drupal?..i just gor a mail about a post here by you but i dont see it...

It says.. "Not that I have ever seen, but that does not mean it hasn't happened. Either way, your host provider needs to work to get it resolved and not just fluff it off as a cPanel issue as they are responsible to you for the support."

Weird thing is..i dont see the reply here..

    Anyway...i see what you mean...
yeah well then i have to contact them about this..
They told me they are "negotiating with cpanel" to solve this issue.

Another thing they mentioned was that they were working on a way "to save the settings"...?
    Whatever that means...

So when this all going on this forum was the only address left for me to get some straight answers.

He may have deleted it. Anyway he is right. Your provider needs to get it looked at. In some cases a simple setting may get missed that can cause issues (not to say this is one of them though). If they are already dealing with cPanel support the best you can do is wait.

As for the link here?? Like was said, this forum while it is here for people, it is strictly a volunteer envolvement and is not an official line of support. There are hosts out there that have been known to give this forum as the support forum for their business which is wrong.

    ok thanks,

the conclusions i can take from all of this is that its not a behaviour of cpanel to set the safemode back to on by itself when set to off.
Ok thanks everyone who helped on this..
    (sorry for the bad start..)
