Going from DNSonly to full cPanel

Hi,
I know it's not possible to uninstall cPanel without causing major damage to a system (or spending a few months picking little bits of cPanel out of the server config), but is it possible to convert a server that has been running DNSONLY into a full hosting server (i.e. running CURRENT)?

I do have some ideas to remove cP, but I'm not about to try them on a live server, and licensing makes it a bit of a pig to set up a test server on VMware. I doubt cP Inc will issue licences in the 10.x.x.x nonrouteable IP space...

Reason I'm asking is because I've just had a few gameserver customers leave, which has left me with a fairly powerful server, with lots of bandwidth, on a 12-month contract, and completely unused. The hosting server contract is up for renewal, and I'm trying to figure out if it would be more worthwhile to just keep the GS and transfer everything over. In any case it would save having an overpowered server doing nothing useful.

Finally, is it possible to lock everyone except root and a few admin users out of FTP, SSH and cPanel while we do the server swap?

Thanks,
Phil.
