Hi, I would like to know if anyone has any tutorials or guides on how to create a Cpanel tutorial...

What you need, where to get it, and how to use it and everything else.

I have never tried to build a Cpanel Theme and would really like to give it a shot, but mostof the sites that have built them do NOT want to tell you how. I am not interested in making templates to sell, I just want to make custom ones for me and my hosting clients.

I will leave the Cpanel market to everyone else, I have my target on a different end of the market - hosting!

Please post a link to any tutorials you have or know about that will be of use.

EDIT: My appologies - Link Removed!

Thnx,
Charlie

First off this isn't the place to advertise. Secondly I guess you advertised at a bad time. Your site is down. Thirdly skins are easy to make. Just download the theme from your server and edit every single html file.

This is obvious to a lot of people, but for those that it isn't, here's a really easy way to install themes:

1) Upload your theme to a directory you can FTP into. For example, if your theme was called &MyTheme& the directory could be /home/yoursite/MyTheme. I don't recommend uploading to a directory you can HTTP to...

2) Login as a root or superuser (if you can't, ask your host to).

3) Tell them to run the following command:
ln -s /home/yoursite/MyTheme /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/

Done!

Now you'll be able to edit your theme directly at /home/yoursite/MyTheme and have them take effect in the frontend directory. Hope that helps.

Re: Images

Hi rpmws,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, please send me an email with the site/s that you noticed using simular images so I may follow this matter up.

I myself did not create the images, they were done by a member of staff, however if I find a conflict, rest assured we will act upon any findings promptly and fully.

[i:93bfe82337]I would also like to ask that any future matters of a simular nature be handled in a more professional and descrite manner, and ask that all future questions about the site be directed to me directly and not posted in this forum, which is related to our site in no way![/i:93bfe82337]

Send email to [b:93bfe82337][email protected][/b:93bfe82337]

All I just said a few images on your site look familiar. That's all I said. Instead of me contacting you I am sure anyone that may have a problem with your site would do that instead. I was reasonably sure everything was on the up and up on your end..but your reply looks a little defensive. As for you asking me to email you in the future ..well let's just say I could be doing you a favor if someone had borrowed your images. That's what I originally thought You seem to suspect the other way around judging by your reply to my post. However no one has ever accused me of being &professional& ..so you are right in line there. Your link to your site sparked me to take a look ..that's all. I hope you catch the guy. Good luck!

remarks

I to, would like to apologise for apparently making you think my post was an attack on you, the defensive stance as you called it is about the only option open too us without going onto the offensive and attacking you, which most defiantly is not our style.

As for the statement about being professional, this was not a slur on you; it was a courteous request to help us protect our name and image. It is a sad situation when people read a post and make a full-blown conclusion without anything more than a few lines of one post. Further more the moderators of this forum would not appreciate us discussing my business in here.

These are the only reasons I ask for your emails, besides, then it is sure to get my fullest attention, and help us protect our property.

Thank you for your consideration in mentioning that you have seen other sites with similar detail. I again invite you to send me details of these sites in an email, so I can close this matter for sure.

Regards,

I see what you mean by bringing this up in a forum might make it seem like it could do damage to your image. Sorry for that. But having graphics on one hosting company's site that also apear on another well known hosting company's web site can also be a way to wreck your image. I am sure I am not the first to notice it. I will just drop it .. I just couldn't help it when I saw you site. It jumped right out at me. It is also important for me to make it clear that this could easily be a case of the same &purchased& image being used by more than one webmaster. I am not claiming anyone **took** anything. But it could look that way to visitors of both sites. That's why I build all my images from scratch ..as bad as they are they are mine.
