After I install cpanel on redhat 8.0 and restart, I cannot see the desktop, is there a way to re-activate it, I have tried &startx& but no luck, it says the default font cannot be found. Anyone else have this problem?

I suggest going to a redhat board, not a cpanel board for this type of question[/quote:a6218741f9]

And I suggest to avoid posting things that don't add anything to the topic and that don't help the thread starter. He clearly said that after installing cpanel he can't see the desktop...well...if he didn't do something in between and if he did the cpanel installation correctly...he has every right to ask why this happened. Nobody here is obbligated to answer...but he doesn't lose anything asking...maybe somebody else has experienced this...and where he can find many persons that have installed cpanel?...of course in this forum. So he's answer is absolutely ok...but I think the mods could judge better than me. Anyway...

I have intstalled it upwards of 5 times so far. Everytime the same thing. I have tried different methods, cd /home;mkdir cpins;cd cpins;wget layer1.cpanel.net/latest;sh latest in the terminal, and downloading the appriate .sea file from layer1.cpanel.net and doing the sh from there..each time, I can use cpanel until I resart, and after that there is no GUI. The default font is fixed. Maybe I need to reinstall this somehow? Im not sure how to do that from the command line though

what's a desktop doing on a cpanel box anyway?
