I enabled the Greylist feature with the default settings following the upgrade to 11.50; it's been just under a week since doing so. I have absolutely no hits whatsoever in the reports which strikes me as odd for a server with over 100 accounts. Would there be something blatantly obvious I may have missed? How can I ascertain if it's working? Which log file should I tail?
Thank you.

Hello :)

Do you see any references to "Deferred due to greylisting" in your /var/log/exim_mainlog file? You could try searching the log file via:

Code:
exigrep greylisting /var/log/exim_mainlog
Thank you.

I am having the same issue, enabled greylisting but it doesn't seem to be working.

Greylist reports are empty and exigrep greylisting /var/log/exim_mainlog returns nothing.

On 11.50.1 (build 3)

You can verify it's running with a command such as:

Code:
/scripts/restartsrv_cpgreylistd --status
Have you tried sending a test email from a remote host (other than a common mail provider) to review the entry in /var/log/exim_mainlog?

Thank you.

HI,

Here is the output:

Code:
[email protected] [~]# /scripts/restartsrv_cpgreylistd --status
cpgreylistd (cpgreylistd - processor) running as root with PID 7226 (process table check method)
it seems to be running but not working, i tried sending from non-common domains and nothing shows up in gerylisting reports, its always empty.

Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome.

Thank you.

We meet the same problem. Is this issue was solved?
If yes please describe steps to figure out.
Have you taken any of the other steps listed in this thread? For example did you run "/scripts/restartsrv_cpgreylistd --status" to see if it's running?

Thank you.

Hello there people. I'm running thru the same issues reported here.
I run the abovementioned commands and Greylisting appears to be running, but it's not filtering a single email nor reporting nothing. At the same time, I'm receiving reports of people in other servers receiving bounced emails after having sent their messages to ours.

Patches, fixes, ideas, solutions, will be all welcomed.

Ticket #: 7502437

Thanks!

Well, my problem was solved. The reason was fairly simple: for some reason, the Exim Advanced configuration checkbox for Greylisting was unticked. By simply tick that option and save changes, Greylisting reports started repopulating. Screen attached below.

Hope this help others.
Thanks!!

Hello,

To update, internal case CPANEL-4354 is open to address an issue where Greylisting isn't enabled if it was previously configured via "WHM » Home » Service Configuration » Exim Configuration Manager » Advanced Editor". Using that method can result in an entry for acl_greylisting= in the /etc/exim.conf.localopts file that overrides the option in Web Host Manager.

The current workaround is to remove the acl_greylisting= entry from the /etc/exim.conf.localopts file, and then enable Greylisting again via "WHM » Home » Email » Greylisting".

I'll update this thread with more information on the status of this case as it becomes available.

Thank you.
