    Hi,

On one of our servers running RHEL4 and cPanel 11, we updated to the latest current revision (C17073) yesterday and are now seeing issues with greylistd crashing.

Chkserv.d is restarting it automatically when it crashes, so is not urgent, but we would like to fix it asap.

    Code:
    root@adonis [~]# tail -n 50 /var/log/messages | grep greylistd
Sep 19 11:04:19 adonis greylistd: greylistd startup succeeded
    Sep 19 11:12:42 adonis greylistd: ### Fatal event in /usr/sbin/greylistd, line 740:
    Sep 19 11:12:42 adonis greylistd: >>> 0
Sep 19 11:12:42 adonis greylistd: greylistd shutdown succeeded
Sep 19 11:12:42 adonis su(pam_unix)[32088]: session opened for user greylistd by (uid=0)
Sep 19 11:12:42 adonis su(pam_unix)[32088]: session closed for user greylistd
Sep 19 11:12:44 adonis greylistd: greylistd startup succeeded

/usr/sbin/greylistd is a python script, and the following is at line 740:

    Code:
    738: def term (signum=None, frame=None):
    739:    cleanup()
    740: exit(0)

    Thanks for your help

Interested to know if you resolved this? I've been considering an install of greylistd myself...

Yeah mate, it's an issue with the checkserv.d script referencing the wrong username.

Not sure of the specifics as I've left that job and am now working in a non-cpanel environment. PM me if you need any more help.

    Cheers,
    Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply. I just couldn't help myself, so I now have it up and running on a few servers - with great results too! No trouble with chkserv.d as yet, so it looks like I'm on the right track. Cheers :)
