Hi, I've just switched 6 domains to a VPS with WHM. I have the Cpanel option to "optimize website" and also Tweak settings in WHM "gzip compression level 1-9". Are they different?.. Should I apply both or if I compress from WHM will all the Cpanels under it be optimized?

I'm assuming compression level 9 is OK to use?

Hi @LouSpar

The compression being discussed in tweak settings is specific to backups. You can see this in our documentation when it's discussed here: Tweak Settings - Version 76 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

gzip compression level
This setting allows you to set the gzip compression level for pigz, which is a gzip-compatible program that uses multiple CPU cores simultaneously.. Higher settings provide greater compression, but compress more slowly.

This setting's minimum value is 1 and the maximum value is 9. This setting defaults to 6.

The compression being discussed in Optimize website is done through apache using mod_deflate or zlib compression.
