Hi guys, I decided to post a new message because what is happening to me is unbelivable,

On the 30 of December my account was penetrated and an email account was used for spamming.... Now on the 29th of January it happened again, and the reseller told me that it was because they had found out my password. but again today, my account has been penetrated.

Can anyone please give me a heads up on what I can do to stop this?

    Many Thanks

    Ed

This called "Spoofing" its done via Telnet

It can be done via any mail box in the world and USUALLY lasts around 2-6 weeks. There is no way to stop it, turn off the Catch all, is probably the best you can.

Its just one of those things

    A couple of generic precautions:

    - Scan your computer for viruses/spyware so you can rule those out as a possibility
    - Use stronger passwords.

Use the password strength meter in cPanel 11 to gauge how strong your passwords are. If you do not see this password strength meter in the cPanel interface when changing your password, ask your web hosting provider to set your account to use the X3 theme. The older themes (X and X2) do not have this capability.

Be sure to use numbers, letters and symbols in your password. Also, it is best if you create a password that you can easily remember but no one else would be able to guess. Additionally, use symbols and numbers unexpectedly so no one could simply make many guesses at your password as a means of guessing which password was correct.

I'd highly recommend talking to your web hosting provider regarding this issue as there may be steps they can take to deter this from happening again. If you don't know who your web hosting provider is, this website may be able to help:

Hi guys, many thanks for the help and information.
One last thing, in the emails the hacker sent, there is his phone number, what and where is the best place to try and report this or to do anything about it?

    Thanks Again

Do yourself a favor and dont waste time trying to prosecute. Most ISPs, hosts or networks wont do anything without a court order or at least a police report. Getting one of those is alot of work and still to this day most police departments dont know how to handle it.

Just work hard at locking down your machine and making it hard for anyone to exploit anything.
