Hi everybody, I appologize for making my first post a request, but I am truly stumped. Some time ago the website I run with a few friends was hit by some hacker, this person seems to have changed the permissions for the admin user. I can access cpanel and see everything, but I can not change the admin directory for our forums.

As a disclaimer, I am not very knowledgable about the inner workings of websites (I was more into the hardware than the software in my classes) so if there are any other details that are needed please let me know and I will try my best to give you what is needed.

    Thank you all!

    Go on, have a guess
You should really ask your web hosting provider for help. They are best placed to help you recover files and sort out passwords for you and to check that your site isn't still at risk from compromise.
