If everything is stable on my server, is there anyway I can prevent cpanel from doing any update? even the forced ones? Also, is this advicable to do?
I have bad experience with cpanel updates as they often cause problems.

    Thanks.

    Go on, have a guess
I would not recommend simply leaving cPanel on a particular version indefinitely. If you do, you expose your server to potential security compromise if any holes are found in cPanel itself, or if you disable OS updates too, then through other applications running on the server.

    THanks for your replies.

How can I deal with cpanel updates problems?
A while ago, my server went down for sometime because cpanel updates broke mysql ?

also, another question, my exim is not working at all, how can I install it from scratch? I did /scripts/eximup and /scripts/exim4, didn't help.

    thanks a lot.

The answer is to not update immediately. Wait a while and watch bugzilla and the forums and see what people have to say about the new version. This way you'll know what you are getting into before you upgrade.

    /scripts/eximup --force
