I have two IP addresses on this machine, but only need to use one with apache. No problem. I modify httpd.conf to listen on only one IP address and it starts/runs fine.

    However...

Server status shows apache down (even though it isnt) and a script running every nine minutes restarts the apache server and sends me an email.

    How do I either:

    a) disable the script from restarting the apache server

    or

    b) modify the script so it only checks apache on a single IP address.

I have another server running on port 80 using the second IP address and I cannot change its configuration.

    Thanks.

    Similar problem

I have a similar need. I want apache/cpanel to leave certain IP numbers well alone. I've tried adding the IP(s) to the reserved IPs list, but that's not enough. Seems starting my service first (a secure proxy which binds to port 80) doesn't cut it either - probably for the same reason. So the question is, how can I make cPanel leave an IP address alone?
