help, i cant edit resolv.conf

    hey guys,
    Does anyone know why i would not be able to edit resolv.conf

    i have logged in as root.....and i cant do anything to the file. I cant change permissions, cant delete it, cant edit etc....

    any help greatly appreciated.

    If you're Fastservers.Net related you may have your resolv.conf frozen by the immutable bit (chattr +i FILENAME)... simply remove it with:

    chattr -i /etc/resolv.conf

    Keep in mind sometimes the layer2 procedures may inject nameservers of another network into that file... I'm not sure if this has been corrected yet but hopefully it will be someday down the road.
