HELP!!! My email stopped working

My email has suddenly stopped working yesterday morning
Any email sent to my cpanel domains just dissapears
Nothing is returned to the sender, nothing appears in the error log or /var/log/messages
i have tried reinstalling cpanel, restarting exim and anything else i can think of and it just will not work

I also notice that i had auto update on and that a new version of cpanel was installed at the time this happened

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Actually it seems it isnt working at all
The mail is returned to the sender after 24 hours with this

What causes this???
To me it seems that whatever is supposed to receive incoming mail on my server has stopped working
How do i fix it?

I just noticed that in WHM when i look at the Service Status it says up the top

package exim is not installed
however down the table it says that exim is UP and imap failed

I think i found the problem
My email got returned with this error:


Delay reason: failed to open /usr/home/usernameremoved/etc/domainremoved.com/passwd for linear search: Permission denied (euid=26 egid=6)

I would also look under WHM & Service Manager and make sure both &cppop& and &exim& have been checked. If not, check what is needed then restart Exim ( Restart Services & Mail Server (Exim) & POP3 Server (cppop) )

Also, it is more helpful to state which vesion you are using rather than, &a new version of cpanel was installed&. ;)

I have tried those already with no success
The new version of cpanel is Cpanel 5.3.0-S104 FreeBSD

That Mail Troubleshooter is doing what exactly?

When you enter an email address that has problems, the reply of the Mail Troubleshooter is:

Legend
Mail Routing Error
Filter File
SMTP Destination

and that is all the troubleshooter does.

Beside, we really need somthing to help us with the email because we started having problems. Our clients cannot connect to their accounts and we have to keep restarting cppop.

how long will we keep it like this? :)

i have the same situation - mail stopped working on 1 account about 10 hours ago - 2 times i only received an empty mail ( empty like no header no source no nothing )

help

I cannot get mail to go out either. Have tried to send mail to another server to no avail. Have tried to send mail to another server that uses cPanel, no good. The only thing that works is sending mail to an account on the same server.

I wonder if Dark ORB is looking into this. It's been days and the hosting companies are still trying to figure this one out.

Need help

As I posted above, It's been days since we can send mail to any server running cPanel....

I am just a reseller and the hosting company is still looking for a fix...

After numerous tests we find that we cannot send mail to other sites using cPanel, to some other email accounts that don't use cPanel...and to some it works fine. Everyone we talked to is blaming Exim..

Is any one else having issues like this as of the past week?

Anyone have any fixes???
