    control if is
    /etc/userdomains
    is 0 kb

    If is 0KB, you try

    /scripts/updateuserdomains

I had the same problem. Try running: /scripts/exim4

That solved the problem on 2 of my servers suffering the same problem.

It went down again. I ran /scripts/exim4 again, but am I going to have to do that every day?

Are you allowing Automatic Upgrades? Are you running the current Stable Version? I do manual Upgrades only (and from now on, only Stable versions).

Do manual upgrades only, and that should stop anything from being over-written pre-maturely. Run only Stable versions. Still problems with exim4. Don't fix what's not broken
    :)
