I am being put through a tough learning lesson this morning, woke up groggy and logged in as root to the shell, meant to chown permissions on a specific directory but accidently chmoded / to root. Now everything is owned by root. This is causing problems all over, it there a way to fix this, a script to repair incorrect permissions on everything?
