help with apache

    Hello, im new in cPanel...i'm root admin on a server and i have create an acount and i have upload my website(Joomla) and i have only this account so i want when i type my server's ip goes exactly in this site (it is on /home/rmdir/public_html) and not this myserverurl.com/~rmdir ... because it does not work properly my joomla site(problem with mod_rewrite) can anyone show me how to config my server to do that?

    Hello :)

    You could assign the account a dedicated IP address and access it over the IP address directly. However, it's easier to just modify the hosts file on your machine to point the domain name to the IP address you want it to resolve to locally.

    This will allow you to access the domain name directly from your computer before changing the name servers at the registrar.

    i didn't tranfer my domain to my new server yet.... is it easy to assign the account a dedicated IP address ??

    Yes, you can do so using the following option in Web Host Manager:

    Change Site's IP Address


    You just need to ensure you have an additional IP address beyond the main shared IP.

    yes i found it but when i type my new address doesn't show my site but shows Welcome to nginx! ?? this ip i taken from other? /http://193.164.131.248/ sorry :)
