    Can it be fixed?

    Yes it can,
    Try doing:

    /scripts/rebuildnamedconf

If that doesnt work, try lodging a ticket with cpanel support.

    Regards,
    Brent

cpanel messed up the default trustix named.conf

i checked mine, and some zones were in the in view, and some were in the out view. it removed the root.cache zone, and kept the chaos zone. there should be a backup file in your /etc with the original named.conf
