Remember that the File Manager is not like Windows: it does not have a "recycle bin." Anything you delete, is gone. Never delete anything unless you are absolutely sure that you will never need it again, or you are certain that you have a good backup.

I need help, I have the same problem as the first post, but the details are little different. I should start from the beginning.

I'm in no way a web developer (hell I work at UPS and do construction) but I do have a paintball team that needs a website, so I decided to make a run at it myself, learning from scratch is a bit overwhelming. My first step was to buy the D-name (- link removed -) and hosting from hostgator. In those early days I set up a wordpress responsive template, at this point the site was up and running with no content. I decided that the wordpress site would not serve the needs of the team. So I went about looking for a way to build my own site, after a month of learning some basic HTML, CSS, and getting a copy of dreamweaver I had developed a nice foundation I could expand on.

Last week I felt that the dreamweaver site was worth showing off to the team and getting some feed back. I did some research into linking my dreamweaver site to my Cpanel on host gator. I did this and the dreamweaver site was uploaded, when I went to - link removed - through the browser, it had uploaded. Well most of it at least, the background was there the content boxes where there, the HTML5 video player was there but would not play, and a flash slideshow I had created with another program (I now know dreamweaver can do this) it was there but not working. But I had spent a while building a vertical drop down menu, this did not work in the browser it showed up as a long list not in a menu box.

This is were it all went really wrong, in my hast and being a noob to all of this I began to think that the old wordpress files were messing with the new dreamweaver files and began to erase them (I didn't know at the time they were gone forever, I do now). The site in my browser was still messed up, so like a real dumbass I deleted all the files that were not uploaded by me in public_html file. What files I deleted I'm not sure i know one was an index.php file, cgi-bin file, others.

I have taken the advice above and asked that the site be restored back to the last possible backup date (problem is hostgator only backups one week, and charge 15 dollars, i'll pay the money, but the back up might screw me). Also when I filled out the restore form on host gator, it didn't do any thing after I submitted it , no email, and nothing change in the file manager. How long will it take them to make this correction.

you can look at what going on at my site - link removed -

any help on tutorials that I can use to rebuild the PHP files I deleted that I assume make my dreamweaver files communicate with the hostgator server. Anyone that would like to do some proboneo work, or would like to exchange some work for free paintball with the Green Devils in the St. Louis Missouri area, it would be greatly appreciated
