I need to get a file deleted from scp in shell, I started a back up file and it failed, well it was over a gig and only about 700 mb got transferred, and the back up wont let me delete it when i attempt to delete it refreshes and then its still there

i am using penguinet for my ssh client
when i go to quick connect i hit scp and it loads a ftp looking client and well i go to the home directory and where all the users files are, and the backup is in there.

I'm at a loss on this

is there a way to delete a file from ssh

    Thanks
    Shannon

    Login to the server :-
    To delete a file :- rm -f /path/to/the/file
To delete a dir :- rm -rf /path/to/a/directory
