I am extremely new to all of this. I was wondering if someone would give me a simple step by step instructions on how to upload files to my server. I do not know shell commands and I can't use ftp on the server root. Thanks

The second one is free, but the first has more features.

Maybe root FTP access is disabled somehow.

You say upload files to your server. Do you mean just to a website on it? If so, you don't want to go to the server as root anyway. You just ftp in with the account username and password.
