Hi all,
as you can imagine I am new to WHM and Cpanel on my VPS and I am trying to get it ready to launch my drupal install. I am officially regretting not having checked before my VPS was unmanaged... I am going to use this for a website only.

I managed to install it WHM through the setup wizard and created an account for Cpanel access.

Problems

1) The website has never pointed to the server IP (the VPS ip given by the provider uk2net). In order to attempt installing drupal i had to key in my ip xx.xx.xxx.xx/drupal-7.9/install.php which hints i might have got wrong some of the installation steps.

2) Anyway once on the first installation page of drupal it would not allow me to go forward as it said I did not have the GD, PDO and mstring to continue with the installation. After selecting such options in easyapache and completing the rebuilding through easyapache i would not be able even to access the xx.xx.xxx.xx/drupal-7.9/install.php

Just to give you some backgroud...

i have specified two new nameservers on my vps provider dashboard, both pointing at my VPS IP.

I have also indicated in the WHM setup wizard two resolvers suggested by my provider's support.

I have also added an A entry to the hostname in the WHM setup wizard pointing at my VPS IP

I really don't know what may cause the two problems

I would appreciate any help

M.

WHM installation, domain not pointing at VPS IP

Hi,
I am having problems getting my WHM installation right so that the domain points at my VPS ip, where i will have my website.

i have setup two custom nameservers both pointing at my VPS unique IP (both in the provider "dashboard" and in the installation wizard of WHM I have also specified a A entry for the host (always my VPS IP).

I would appreciate any help on this...

I would first suggest you to get your domain pointing to your VPS before starting the installation as it might possible that Drupal Database will store some URL as Temporary url which will create problems in future.

Please check URL: Quick install for beginners | drupal.org which have explained installation steps in very nice and easy way (If you face any problem you can ask here) and don't worry everything will be fine as cPanel is very easy to operate and manage.

BTW you are doing great coz you executed easyapache and trying to fix problems :)
