    Hello,

We're planning to get some servers from a dedicated server isp in Germany called Hetzner. The only problem is that they only provide the following OS's:

Debian 4.0 min, openSuSE 10.2 min, openSuSE 10.3 min, Ubuntu 7.04 min, Ubuntu 7.10 min, Fedora 8.

This might sound like a long shot but I was wondering if anyone here is using Hetzners servers with Cpanel? There is away to install CentOS5 to those servers and we need to take a look at it, but it'd have been nice to get some information from someone who has already done it.

This script is very specific to Hetzner, as far as I could read, so nothing to be used in general.

Yes, I know it's a script for their purposes, but that's why I'm looking for an english version, cause then I could customize it for my own use :)

If the INSTALLATION part is sufficient:

    - activate your rescue system and reboot
    - log-in into rescue system using ssh
    - download "hetzner.kickstart" script

    URL

    - execute script

    Shell cmd

    - note the future root password
    - restart server

    Shell cmd

    - after approx. 120 sec a VNC-viewer windows will open, that shows the installation progress
    - after 10 min the installation is finished and the server reboots
    - now you can log-in to your server using the noted password

    AFTER INSTALLATION

    - update linux

    Shell cmd

    - post-install packages

    Shell cmd

    - konfigure server name

    Shell cmd

    - Check autostart for services

    Shell cmd

    SECURITY

    - Firewall

    Shell cmd

    - Selinux

    Shell cmd

    KNOWN PROBLEMS
    --cut--

CentOS5 gets a driver disk for the missing RTL8111B driver

we own a new ds8000 from hetzner.

When we try to follow this how to, after run we get
sfdisk: Fatal error: cannot find /dev/sdb

is this because ds8000 came with raid activated by default?

    Regards.
