    Many of the threads I find have a problem posted and the next reply is from an admin that says something along the lines of..

    'Please don't start another thread about this issue'

    or

    'Please use the search feature this issue has been discussed many times before'

    How bout before you close the thread with no reply to the original topic you provide a link to the threads or at least leave them open for others to do so. It's disgusting how many threads I find that could help me but are closed by forum admins, with no solution provided. Many times the only results I get to my search queries are filled with threads like this.

    It seems to me CPanel users would be better served to freely post problems and replies without the admins shutting them down. I, for one certainly would.

    Sounds like you're speaking of some other forum. I don't see that happening here at all.

    As an admin I actually concur with your suggestion for company forums;

    That and EVERY forum I troll has a different search function (even from the same forum scripts, they are often setup differently - returning different results).

    Best put - find a hosting provider that will actually help you :)

    If there is trouble, it will find me
    That is done for a reason. Specifically, it's so that people who actually are willing to put forth even the slightest effort to help themselves can find the information more quickly using the search function. Avoid the threads that show the little lock icon, and you'll be able to find useful information rather than digging around useless threads. There's really no point in answering the same question over and over again. It just encourages those who want other people to do everything for them.

    You can't afford to simply close a thread and say "go find it yourself" when these people pay you money....

    Community Forums - yes by all means. But I think he means forums at his hosting company's site.

    Agreed, it's a rare occasion when a thread gets locked on these forums. I'm having a hard time even thinking about when was the last time that we locked a thread on these forums.

    I usually leave threads open just in case someone's specific situation is different from that mentioned on another thread.
