We have our own story system which we upload onto accounts on our cpanel servers.

There are some un-encrypted files that we need to keep so that the site owners can not access them. I've tried changing the owner to root which hides them to the users on our other servers but not our cpanel ones.

How do we keep them in the correct locations but make them inviable to users not using root?

I've worked it out now.. it was really down to getting the right permissions.
