Hi!

As the title states... I am having an issue with the user inbox files growing wayyy beyond their limit. I know I can manually clear the files, but I do not wish to have to monitor this so closely. Is there some setting I have overlooked that will limit the size of these files? Or something that will clear them out regularily?

I have done some searching and the only other thread I found that was close to this issue recently is here: http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=59351

But there is no solution to the problem.

This is happening server wide essentially. Although I was tipped off by a user complaining he had hit his disk space quota but had emptied his email inboxes and only had used 100mb of space for html file's and graphics - he has a 2500mb account package. After some quick checking I found his inbox file was 2.4gb in size.

Thanks!

Shane

This refers to your accounts' default boxes. There's an option in the webhost manager to have default boxes set to automatically fail (Under Tweak Settings, don't recall the exact feature name). Your users likely have their default boxes set to forward to their username, which will place mail in this mailbox file.

The default box is basically where mail for [email protected], [email protected], etc (any e-mail address @domain.com that is not already set up as a mail account or mail forwarder) will go. Typically, you do not care about these e-mails. Typically, you only have a set number of e-mail addresses that you want to receive e-mail at. Those e-mail addresses should be set up as specific accounts or forwarders.

You may want to check the forum for various threads regarding the default box or default account.
