If I look in the /home/virtfs folder, all of my website users have a subfolder, however most are in the region of 3900 to 4000KB. ONe of them is significantly larger, taking up 30.5GB.

du commands are listing this as 'real space', run "cat /proc/mounts | grep virtfs" the particular website is mounted. I tried running "/scripts/clear_orphaned_virtfs_mounts --clearall" but it didn't seem to make any difference to the disk usage on the server.

Tweak settings do not have the experimental "Jail Apache Virtual Hosts using mod_ruid2 and cPanel Jailshell" turns on, but this setting was enabled when I first created the account in question. However it was quickly disabled due to issues with the code being served and the mod-ruid2 system.

As it currently stands, if I look at 'Manage Shell Access', this particular site is listed with a Disabled Shell, although it does run a few cron tasks if that would make any difference.

Now I have read that I should be able to unmount these directories and then delete them, however I am reading that as a quote from a CPanel documentation page that the link no longer functions for, and therfore I cannot be certain that I'm missing context.

If my server is not using mod_ruid2, and the experimental jail apache virtual hosts is off, should the virtfs folder still exist? should one website be mounting it? Should that same website be storing 35GB of data in there?

    [edit]

in addition, why would the virtfs folder for a single site contain 35GB of space. That's literally 50% of the entire disk usage of the whole server (not just that one site).
