Hello :)

I moved this post into it's own thread. Could you elaborate on which specific features are missing?

Thank you.

Hi Michael
Sorry for the wrong location on the topic, but what items I would like to see back that use to work properly are:
Replying or Forwarding a e-mail, the signature and reply is all wrong.

The old system when you hit reply my actual reply along with my signature was at the top of the page and the previous e-mail body was below. This new system gives you two options.
1. Reply you would type with signature is now at the bottom of the previous e-mail body "like forum software"
Email I am replying to located here:

Then my reply and signature here:

or you can set it where my reply I am typing is at the top, then the previous reply to e-mail body is below my reply, then my signature is at the bottom of everything so it is breaking it up like so:

My Text Reply here:

E-mail body I am replying to in quote box

My Signature placed here:

I have used cpanel and horde e-mail ever since I started my site, matter of fact I would not host anywhere without the two, so all of my site based e-mails comes through the server and it needs to be working properly.

2. With the old Horde I could click on the e-mail subject and it would open the e-mail in that window, this gave me the ability to blacklist of if was junk or bogus, now when you want to read a e-mail it opens in a separate pop-up window and if it is junk you close that window, go back to the message in the inbox list, then tell it to blacklist. Where is the blacklist feature for reviewing the e-mail and blacklisting with one move?
Functions displayed are: Reply, Forward, and Delete
Functions missing: Blacklist, Whitelist, and Move

3. Additional comments: When viewing the spam or trash folders, the Empty Spam and Trash Button is missing in the header that would make it much easier for us to delete the contents in these folders while we were in there looking at what is in them.

The above are items I noticed immediately after the upgrade and used constantly, so I am really surprised they have changed so much and not working like the old system or other e-mail programs for that matter.

The dynamic view and operation is very nice, streamlined, and I like it it grows on me more and more after using it, however too many shortcuts were taken and it is missing the core fundamentals of a e-mail software.

Unfortunately, these are design decisions with Horde that cPanel does not have control over. It seems more like an issue with the decisions that Horde made for the newer version as opposed to error messages or options that do not work as intended. You could always install your own custom instance of Horde if you are not happy with Horde Groupware 5.1.1.

cPanel - Integrating Custom Webmail Applications

You could also contact Horde using one of that methods listed at their website:

Support - The Horde Project

Thank you.

Hey Michael
Sorry about the topic I was misinformed about c-panels involvement with Horde, but I do have a question that maybe you can answer.
I can see Horde has 5.1.3 stable working release with a ton of bug fixes etc or at least that is what the list states, when will you guys offer up for a update with c-panel?

We review updates to the newer versions of Horde that are pushed out and decide if they should be included in the version that cPanel implements. In particular, the security updates are investigated thoroughly. There are no immediate plans to include Horde 5.1.3 with cPanel, but if there is a specific bug that is affecting you feel free to let us know.

Thank you.

Hey Michael
According to a e-mail received from Horde which they like to reply with answering a question with a question, but from horde "the issues you e-mailed us about have been addressed", then they send me to a archive list that would take months if not a year to comb through.
I really wished they had forum software like IPB so everything is broken out into sections for definitive answers and issues everyone could see and hopefully are addressed.

Michael I would really appreciate if c-panel since they have done this update "which again it updated my server last week" would go ahead and update to Horde 5.1.3 or 5.1.6 since they e-mailed me today stating the 5.1.6 stable working version with bug fixes is available now.

For a great server e-mail service, Horde's site and information well let's just say could use some serious re-organizing and tweaking.

Thanks
Neil

Work is in progress to implement the latest version of Horde groupware. For reference, the internal case number for this upgrade is 93513.

Thank you.
