Host won't allow Error Log, Fair?

    Hi,
I have my hosting with prokmu.com (not recommended BTW), and they said (after trying to fob me off) that they won't allow use of the error log since it put's strain on the server.

Is this ridiculous or does the Error Log really use that much 'power'?

Or is it because they're trying to run too much on one processor?

dependant on the amount of traffic you get to your site and how many errors it creates, the log file could possibly be enourmous although I would get a new host, I've never heard such nonsense.

    that's what I thought.
it's always limited to 300 messages (is with my personal host anyway).

unfortunately this is for the company site, and so I can't change it.

thanks for the reassurance that I wasn't going mad!
