Wonder if someone can help me.......

I was all set to change from being a reseller to a shared host package bydoing a full backup (as I want to transfer all my emails / files etc) and then restoring it on the new shared but then i have seen that the backup confirmation email refers to 'reseller config' etc and know i am unsure if this is the best way (or even if it will work) to transfer from a reseller to shared.

Has anyone any idea if this restore will work or if they know of an alternative direction i could take?

My situation: - Reseller Package with several addon domains, realistically only two (wordpress and zencart) of which i needed to transfer files (as other domains are just redirections) and i need to take all my emails from all the accounts with me

Any assistance much appreciated

Thanks

If it was me, I think I'd get the server setup properly first, Hostname, nameservers, security, create my Packages, Reseller options if needed, etc. And then I'd login to my new server, as root user, and do an account transfer this way:
Copy an Account From Another Server With an Account Password - cPanel Documentation

Once the account is moved, modifying Reseller options, changing IPs, changing owner of account even can be done easy enough.

The part of the email that you mention is there whether you're a Reseller or not, no worries there.

Your entire account should be restored intact, just as it is now, over there on the new server safely.

My apologies, I read your post incorrectly.

Your Hosting Provider should be able to move your account for you, and of course, modify it afterward to fit your new Package with them.
Unfortunately as it is viewed as a 'downgrade' (costs less than the reseller account i currently own) they will not transfer my files/domain etc over for me so its a manual process on my behalf.

So I guess I will create a full back up of my reseller acc and then try to restore it in my new shared acc and see what happens.

Thanks for all your advice.
