Hi,

Sometimes when I enter WHM I get the popup saying Hostname A Entry Missing or Adding an A entry for your hostname I click add etc...

The problem is, it is already in the domain dns zone along with the nameservers A records etc...

I have checked /etc/hosts and this has
# Auto-generated hostname. Please do not remove this comment.
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX cpanel.PROVIDER.com cpanel
XX.XXX.XX.XX neptune.MY-DOMAIN.com neptune
127.0.0.1 localhost
When I got the VPS it had the the hostname cpanel.PROVIDER.com, so I changed it to nepture-MY-DOMAIN.com

Should I remove the the hole line for cpanel.PROVIDER.com ?
Any where else I can check to get this problem fixed ?

I have just checked /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver XX.XXX.XXX.XXX
nameserver XX.XXX.XXX.XXX
nameserver X.X.X.X
The top to are in the same datacenter as the vps

Cpanel
This is my /etc/hosts

# Auto-generated hostname. Please do not remove this comment.
xx.xxx.x.xxx xxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx xxxxx
127.0.0.1 localhost

and /etc/resolv.conf

nameserver xx.xxx.xx.xx
nameserver xx.xxx.xx.xx

anyways.. go to hypervm >>> network you will see hostname.. change to your desire hostname.

and go to WHM>>DNS Functions>>Perform a DNS Cleanup

restart DNS

and think about my hosts and resolv.conf..
