    hi,
    I have the following problem that on reboot the vps myserver reset his hostname.
    now will explain
    i'm admin of the hard node and the vps
    virtualization with openvz virtuozzo
    vps is with cPanel 11.24.5-C38506 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9
    CENTOS 5.3 x86_64 virtuozzo.
    In the config file of the ve hostname is set to
    host1.domain.com as should be FQDN
    and each time when i restart the vps it's hostname change host1 not FQDN
    and mail server begin to send email with hello of host1 not host1.domain.com
    and the messages come back "mail delivery system..Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname".
    What I do at this time;
    1.from hard node redefine the FQDN host name and after restart nothing;
    2.try to changed layout in /etc/hosts from ip host1 host1.domain.com to ip host1.domain.com host1 because on reboot it reseting to ip host1 host1.domain.com
    this resolve problem with emails until the next reboot
    3.change hostname in /etc/sysconfig/network to FQDN
    and make update of license key -- nothing reboot=reset=mail problem
    4.in WHM of the vps change the hostname from host1 to host1.domain.com as should be FQDN,
    ask me to enter A record in dns zone, it exist and temporarily solve the problem with the Post until the next reboot.

    where is the problem.
    help me.

    Hello,
    On a VPS you cannot change the hostname. It should be changed on the hardware node. So ask your provider.

    The hostname must be set from openVZ configuration. You will need to update you provider to change hostname for your server.
