    hostname with problems

I altered my hostname and without intention I put a space in the end of the hostname and now he appears this mistake "Invalid Hostname. (gravity.mywebhostnew.com). Hostnames may not contains spaces or tabs."
in WHM and I don't get to enter in Change Hostname, because it continues appearing the same message.

How do I do to change manually? I tried through SSH to change /etc/hosts and there he/she doesn't have the wrong hostname.

    Thank you

Type the following from bash prompt as root:
    man hostname
