I am new to web mastering, in fact I built my site using wysiwyg web builder, so my level of knowledge of html is very low, so please go easy on me.

I have had my site running for a few months now (no sales or many visitors yet), and when I first put the site up, the instant preview in google worked fine, but not anymore. I think it is because I have hotlink protection enabled in c-panel, which is needed because my monthly bandwidth is very low (1gb).

The problem is that if I search with google and come up with any of my pages, the small preview works (for most but not all pages it seems), but the cached pages always have no images in them. I have found that turning off hotlink protection instantly makes the page load fully.

I have read that I can add the search engines to my allowed list in the hotlinking control panel, but if I type http:// google "dot"com (I did put a "." instead of "dot") and submit, nothing happens.

Please can someone tell me how to allow Google to get my images whilst still having hotlink protection turned on, i.e. what do I write in the allowed list.

    Thank you for you time.
