How are people able to write files to /dev/shm?

    How are people able to write files to /dev/shm?

    It's a file system. You should mount it noexec,nosuid,nodev in /etc/fstab. It won't stop writing to it, but it will stop direct execution - and update whichever scripts are being exploited.
