How can I control access to WHM via the server's internal IP address?

    Hi all,
    we have WHM and Cpanel set up and working nicely on our server and I can access them using any of the server's external IPs providing my IP is in the allow list in CSF, so that's all good :)
    I have a secure VPN connection to our host's network and I have allowed the relevant IPs in CSF so I can use this VPN to ping, FTP and SSH to the server's internal IP address, but I can't access WHM and CPanel if I go this route and I'd really like to.
    Is there a control within WHM as to which IPs it will answer onor is it maybe a limit in my Apache configuration?
    any help gratefully received, I'm a bit stumped....

    nevermind, I have it sorted. I wasn't using HTTPS at the start of the url when trying to access the 192.168 address. Schoolboy error...
