I want to be able to download the site so I can work on it in Dreamweaver then upload it. Is this possible in CPanel?

Dreamweaver has a built in FTP client, so all you need to do is enter the correct settings into Dreamweaver and away you go!

Well, I tried that but it wouldn't work from here. I have a URL with port number but can't seem to get it to work the same way a site on an apache server does.

    I will try smartftp.

    Thanks guys.

A cpanel server is an apache server. Just do it as follows:

    Remote Host: yourdomain.com
    username: your cpanel username
    password: your cpanel password

    Remote folder: /public_html

I use Dreamweaver to connect via ftp with my servers all the time. Dreamweaver uses a standard ftp protocol.
