How can I restore a backup from a specific day?

I've got my own dedicated server that I lease through HostGator. It's running the latest version of WHM.

I have a site on that server and I need to restore the database form a few days ago (my server does backups every night). When I login as root and go to Backup > Restore Backup > Daily, it let's me choose the user I want to restore (as well as a host of other options) but it doesn't let me choose what date I want to restore it to.

I find this a little odd... Is there any way to restore a backup from a specific day?

That depends on the version of cPanel that server is running I would think. New backup options have just been introduced that do permit this. (specific days)
If you're not using that new system, you'll need to grab a prior backup, unpack it and locate the mysql directory which contains your databases and restore the .sql file itself.

Okay thanks!

In order to grab a backup from a specific day do I have to use SSH and login as root to do it? There's no GUI interface to grab the backups I assume?

I only ask because I'm not super savvy with the command line.
