    Hi,

    i take a mistake,

1)i want to delete a folder in /var/lib/mysql,

when i use "ls" to check ,it shows with (space)foldername,

i use rm -rf ./foldername, it failed,

and i use rm -rf ./(space)foldername, oh no,all the files in the /var/lib/mysql are gone,

2)i do not have the backup files of the folder at all.

3)how can i rebuild the system files of the mysql server with a smooth way?

    thanks

/var/lib/mysql is the default location of the databases and tables stored on server, I am not clear with your first point that what you want to do exactly ...If you want to remove the particular folder in the /var/lib/mysql folder then you can go as follows:

    #cd /var/lib/mysql
    # rm -rf <foldername>
    or for file
    # rm -f <filename>

Unfortunately, if you don't have backups on your mysql server then you can't rebuild the data files of the mysql server but you can re-install mysql using

But before doing this make sure Cpanel is updated to the latest version. You can do the update through WHM Upgrade to Latest Version and using the command:

    # /scripts/upcp --force

    # /scripts/mysqlup --force

    Hi,AnilR,

thanks for your replay clearly!! thanks

1.what i want to say is that
    -----------------------------------------
there was a mysql folder with " good_1" ( there is a space before the "g"),

i try to use "rm -rf ./good_1" to remove the folder, but failed,

so,i try to add a space after the "/",and it is "rm -rf ./ good_1",

after the command i type, all the folders and files in the /var/lib/mysql are gone.
    -----------------------------------------

this is the process what i got.

2.because i install the whm/cpanel、rvskin、rvsitebuilder on the server,

the three program have their own mysql folders and files in /var/lib/mysql,

i need to rebuilder the mysql folders and files for the three programs in /var/lib/mysql.

hope it will be more clear.

    thanks
