If there's a newer version in the version tree that you're using then running /scripts/upcp would install it.

There is NO new version. Vesion 6.4 is the curent stable version and it is from March. There is a beta out, however.

It's six months later and my cPanel still shows Awstats 6.4 installed. Surely there must have been an upgrade to 6.5? Or did I miss it...?
    :(

Did you log an enhancement request in bugzilla or check if there is one? If not, that's what you should do.

    Ah.
I don't have a support contract so I guess I'll have to wait then....

You don't need one to look at or log enhancement requests in bugzilla.

How about answering the question of why its not been upgraded in the past 6 months versus telling them to ask it some place else.

The orginal question was HOW to upgrade AWSTATS. The real question is how to upgrade it without having CPanel downgrade it during the next run of upcp.

I also have sever questions of a group that tells people to run scripts from SSH when they are developing a UI.

Since the latest version has a huge tuning improvement its highly sought after by hosts to reduce logging load. Cpanel shouldn't need a feature request to apply common sense to the needs of their base client's.

Because I've no idea what the answer is and I'm pointing them to the place where you can get that information from cPanel

If you want a response from cPanel then you have to contact them directly, and bugzilla is one of those methods, whether you like it or not.

    watch out!

awstats 6.4 has a lot of security problems, latest version is 6.6.
Hope cpanel apply the patch soon to all stable, current, release, edge versions.

    bye!

yikes, I have just run into a few small issues with version 6.4 that are corrected in 6.5, any one know an eta of 6.5 being included in upcp? I will scan thru bugzilla to see if there are any open requests too.
