Bu default my server makes the usernames the first 8 letters of the domain name. Is there a way to change this?

    Thanks

    Greg

Anything really, add some variable so that the security is a little tougher. everyone knows that cpanel usernames are always the first 8 letters of the domain. But i have seen where the username becomes the first 4 letters, the last letter and the tld.
so if the domain is mydomain.net, the username would be mydonnet rather then mydomain.

    Thanks for your reply,
    Greg

    Hello Greg,

The way I believe you'll need to do this would be to tie into either the API (an example for createacct would be Create an Account — createacct) or to have a script that calls /scripts/createacct and will pass the username in some manner.

This thread should be in the developer's center due to the fact that the default itself won't be changeable, but you can pass a different default using some type of script that uses createacct to generate some different default.

    Thanks!
