how do i chmod a file

    hello everyone,

    i was trying to install an application on my website and i was asked to upload the files in step 2 and step 3 said, 'Optional but recommended: chmod config.php so that it is writable by the webserver (try chmod 0777);' and i dont really know what to do.

    can u help me out.

    Hello,

    You just need to login to your Cpanel >>> go to the option Files >>> go to >>> File Manager. Right here select the file for which you wish to change the permissions on and on the top Menu you will see the option Change Permissions click on it and change it as per your requirement.

    The other way is to contact your Host Provider and ask them to change the permissions for particular file as per your requirement.
