My old cPanel backups seem to be using up over 100MB with every backup. It's using up over 2/3 of my cpanel space.

How can I delete the older backups so that I can retrieve some of my disk space?

You can remove the backup using the below mentioned command in SSH:

    rm -rf filename.tar.gz

If you don't have shell access you can remove the backup files from within your home directory using "File Manager" or logging in via FTP.

If root (System Administrator) access is not available, the safest method to remove the undesired backups is via the cPanel File Manager; alternatively you could also remove them via FTP access.

If root (System Administrator) is available, or if SSH access is available, you could use a command like the following (where filename should be replaced by the backup file names to be removed):
    Code:
    rm -fv filename
Relating to SSH access and the "rm" command, it should not be necessary to use the "-r" recursive option with "rm" unless you also need to remove a directory named after one of the backup archives.
