So I'm writing a php script to send email and have been told that it's more secure to use SMTP, but I don't know my SMTP information. Where can I find out my host and such? I've looked through CPanel and can't find that info anywhere.

    thanks,
    Lawrence

You will first need to create a mail account if you desire to use SMTP. You can do this via the cPanel interface (X3) by going to "Email" section and clicking "Email Accounts."

Once you have created an account and are brought back to the page, click the icon next to that account that says "Configure Mail Client." At the bottom of the page that appears are manual settings. Those are the settings you would use in your PHP script.

Note that SMTP connections on a cPanel/WHM system typically need to be authenticated.
