how do i find out who is running sendmail?

    I have 162 sendmails running at once:
    # ps auxw | grep sendmail | wc -l
    161

    What is mailnull?

    Without knowing the command you ran which outputed that data I would guess it's the user running the process. The sendmail program is not run as the user actually sending the email.

    To find the problem you will need to do some log digging etc. You will probably need to hire a system admin to do a "proper" job of it. :)
