Why would you want to prevent cpanel from being visible on the internet?

Username and password will prevent access

Set a secure password. The more complex, the more secure. If you want more security, use CSF (http://configserver.com/cp/csf.html). I have mine set to block an IP after a couple of incorrect attempts.

Waltzing I can handle, Fox trotting, now that's a different matter

    :)

If you want to prevent access to example.com/cpanel, you can block at the firewall. The particulars really depend upon your requirements.

    Fox trotting sounds dangerous. :)

If I was you I'd go check my settings in WHM. More specifically the section titled "Redirection" and I'd be sure I had set my redirects to SSL/TLS ports.

That would put a crimp in some of this dancing stuff.
